Exploring your journey into cybersecurity
Linde Nouwen
is a 23-year-old cybersecurity enthusiast working in the Offensive Security Team at KBC. Her day-to-day consists of penetration testing, but you’ll find Linde as well in hacking competitions and bootcamps. In her presentation she’ll tell us how she entered in the world of cybersecurity, how it became her passion and maybe can become yours too 😏. Linde is breaking the stereotype that a hacker is someone in a basement wearing a hoodie, but rather that it requires social interaction and lots of creativity!

My journey as international student to woman in ICT
Vasilena Stoyanova
was born in Bulgaria and came to Belgium 5 years ago as an international student at KDG University studying Applied Computer Science. After graduating in 2023, she established herself as a professional in the IT sector and started working as a System Engineer, putting her skills in software development, data and client interaction in action! In her presentation she’ll share that journey, with a focus on the importance of embracing diversity and the value of perseverance. Vasilena will give practical advice an for young graduates embarking on their careers, based on her experience. Outside of work, Vasilena is into sports, and mainly Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). 🥋

18:40 - 19:00 PM: 1:1 networking and announcement winners Coolblue Vouchers

To close of the event, everyone gets matched up to very quickly talk to someone you don’t know yet. Don’t worry, people who’re the most intimidated by networking usually enjoy this part of the event the most! and if you stay until after the networking, you’ll find out if you won one of the Coolblue Vouchers!
