By day, Laïla works as Solutions Architect & Software Engineer at Particular Software, where she's busy building NServiceBus and solving distributed systems riddles :) With almost 20 years in the software industry, she's built a deep expertise in distributed systems and messaging, and she's a Microsoft MVP in Azure & Developer Technologies to boot.
But Laïla is probably best known on stage. She's a regular keynote speaker at some of the biggest developer conferences in the world, think NDC London, Oslo, Copenhagen and Porto, DDD Europe, and the Software Architecture Gathering, often in front of crowds of 1000+ people!
Her keynote on critical thinking at NDC London was received so well that people called it the best session of the entire conference, and said she'd summed up an entire career's worth of insight in one hour. Beyond the big stages, she also loves speaking at universities, to give students a realistic (and myth-busting) picture of what a career in software engineering actually looks like.
